Ambulance-2
A-2, a 2005 Med-Tec "mini-mod", is our newest ambulance. It responds as the 1st-out ambulance from station 1. It is our only rig that features the 6L diesel engine. Like A1, it features a Garmin GPS navigation system and is equipped with XM satellite radio. Since radio stations in our part of Montana are few and far between, the satellite radio often plays a crucial role in keeping us awake in the wee hours of the morning as we spend countless hours rolling down the highway. A2 is equipped with a different lightbar than the others, featuring halogen and strobe lighting. Three out of the four ambulances at station 1 are outfitted with cattle bumpers on the front. This is due to the large amount of wildlife that is present in our part of Montana. In the past, they have played a major role in reducing damage and crew injury in collisions with wildlife.
