Ambulance-4
As our only 4x4 and type-2 ambulance at station 1, A-4 is unique. It looks different, drives different, has a different engine, and has capabilities our other ambulances do not. It is a 1999 Med-Tec type-2 4x4. It is our primary incident and standby ambulance. If we are called for a major incident, such as a wildland fire where we will be on-scene for weeks, this is the truck we will utilize. With it's four-wheel-drive, it is also utilized when the Montana weather makes operation of our other ambulances difficult. it is not stocked for ALS use, but if it is needed, the ALS wilderness bag is loaded onboard to provide the paramedic the tools they need for ALS patients.
