Construction on the new station 2 is underway!
Station #2 is located in Babb, only miles from the east entrance to Glacier National Park. All our personnel at station 2 are paid-on-call and do not staff the station at set hours like station 1. The old station 2 had not been utilized for some time due to it's poor condition, and approval was received in the summer of 2007 from our county commissioners to demolish the old quarters and construct a new station. Our response vehicles there, A-5 and A-6, are being housed in the Babb Emergency Services station until construction is complete. The new station will feature living quarters for two personnel and will include a dorm, kitchen, shower/locker facilities, day room, office, medical supply storage and a two-vehicle bay. The station is being built on the same location as the old station. An open house is slated to be held in May to officially open the station.
